Srinagar, Nov 08 (KNO): Army on Saturday foiled an infiltration bid by killing two terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Keran sector in Kupwara district, officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
They said on the basis of specific information about the infiltration attempt from the other side, the Army launched a counter-infiltration ‘Operation Pimple’. “Alert troops detected suspicious movement in the area and challenged the infiltrators, who opened fire. Soldiers retaliated, leading to an exchange of fire in which two terrorists were killed,” the officials added.
Meanwhile, Army’s Srinagar based Chinar Corps in a statement said that two terrorists were neutralised by the security forces in the ongoing operation, and searches are in progress.
An official said that the operation, launched jointly by the Army and the Border Security Force (BSF), involved the use of drones and other surveillance equipment to monitor the terrain.
He said troops along the LoC remain on high alert. “Security forces have foiled every infiltration attempt so far and continue to maintain strict vigil,” the official added—(KNO)
